Mike Slott is fast becoming a producer on the minds of a lot of producers. Having torn up both Flying Lotus's latest EP with a hugely popular and original remix and enchanted many with his first Mary Ann Hobbs mix live on BBC Radio 1 he is now ready to take his place as 2009's next ish. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Mike has also lived in New York and Glasgow where he helped form the LuckyMe collective with his frequent production partner Hudson Mohawke. Together as the internationally renowned Heralds of Change production unit they released 4 EPs including the seminal Secrets and Puzzles that helped birth a sound that is currently making big waves but largely remains nameless.

His work of late has included remixes for Nicole Willis, Warp Records, two 7s on All City Records and has been championed by the likes of Benji B, Mary Ann Hobbs and Flying Lotus to name but a few. 2008 saw Mike bring his jaw-dropping live set on the road with his LuckyMe cohorts Hudson Mo, Rustie and Dom Sum to play some of the most exciting and open minded venues from New York to LA to Amsterdam.

Mikes' sound is often hard to pin down - seeped in a myriad of influences from jazz-fusion to classic hip hop via freeform techno and electronic experiments. His atmospheric and innovative productions have won over the ears of music fans across the globe, and is major part of helping to define the formative age of a new and exciting era in hip hop. For Mike this comes as a natural step as he hails from a lineage of music royalty, his father being the first major label jazz signing in Ireland. His brother was signed to Sony BMG age 17, and even his cousin is an ex-member of Irelands most successful golden-era hip hop group. Not victim to expectation he wears his emersion in music very easily, moving this niche new sound ever onward.

Mike's 2009 endeavors see him prepare a slew of releases including co production with dubstep hero Martyn, a 12 series with Hudson Mohawke, a shared 7 with Dabrye and numerous appearances and remixes including Beat Dimensions 2, Mary Ann Hobbs' Planet Mu compilation and his first solo EP on LuckyMe. Continuing to push the boundaries of hip hop in both the studio and on the stage, Mike Slott and his particular musicality is here for the long run.
