Nunca

Nunca (in english: never) started doing pixaçao and latter graffiti when he was about 12 years old in the streets of Sao Paulo, the place where he lives and works.Over the years, his works developed into a more pictorial form of communication that through its use of colours, style way to live and body paintings strongly evokes the ancient traditions of the brasilian, south american native indians and primitive cultures .By placing his images of tribal peoples in contemporary settings such as motorways underpasses ,Nunca creates a timeless dialogue between the modern world and our common ancestors. The use of a traditional writing from Sao Paulo founded on the walls called pixaçao is a strong influence on his works ,wich he uses most in his panels and paintings. The techniques to do shadows and to define figures are the same as of metal and wood engravings which he often uses as reference in his works.Like that the artist create a parallel with the form the conquerors at the time of the invasions in Brasil told their adventures about the New Word through the prints and influence of the globalization`s process on the traditional cultures of third world countries nowadays.
